Black Swan provides landslide relief in Waiya Ausa
A landslide in the Waiya Ausa community in Lumusa resulted in the deaths of three individuals and devastation to homes and food supply on 10 April 2021. Upon hearing of the event, the Baptist Union of PNG alerted the newly re-established Highlands Humanitarian Hub. The Hub successfully secured support from the PNG Disaster Management Team Secretariat, which is managed by the UNDP.
Black Swan stepped up to provide a 3-man team to transport vital supplies from Lae to Wiaya Ausa. The harrowing 14 hour trip through landslide conditions was challenging, but the team safely reached the destination and delivered the critical goods.
Black Swan congratulates our brave men and celebrates the collaboration and efforts of World Vision, Baptist Union, the Humanitarian Hub and UNDP. PNG is our home, and we are in this together.
